Did you know that God is working powerfully through young Christians in Ethiopia?
An extraordinary indigenous missions movement is underway as Ethiopian believers answer the call to take the gospel to some of the most remote and unreached areas of their own country. Partners With Ethiopia is honored to come alongside these missionaries by mobilizing prayer and support, particularly for those serving in South Omo.
South Omo is a remote region in southern Ethiopia, home to 16 indigenous tribes. Traditional beliefs, including animism and witchcraft, remain deeply rooted in many communities, and much of the region has had little access to the gospel.
Today, dozens of young Ethiopian missionaries are focusing their efforts in South Omo. Their passion for sharing the good news of Jesus, often in difficult and isolated places, is truly inspiring. At the same time, Islamic missionary efforts are also expanding in the region and are often supported by significant outside funding. The spiritual need is great, and we believe the call to prayer is urgent.
Most of these missionaries serve with our partner, AIPM (Ambaricho International Prayer and Missions Movement), a grassroots Ethiopian missions organization founded by Dr. Desta Langena in the late 1990s. Today, more than 800 AIPM missionaries are serving throughout Ethiopia, taking the gospel to communities where the name of Jesus may be little known.
Partners With Ethiopia is deeply grateful to stand with this growing Ethiopian missions movement. We invite you to join us in praying for these courageous men and women as they share the hope of Jesus in South Omo and beyond.
